Following the sad and unexpected passing of FoBW stalwart Steve Wright, the Group planted a commemorative oak tree in one of the Glades that Steve helped to create.  See pictures of this sad event in the gallery below.

The group used to meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month to undertake active work on Boxley Warren.  Work ranged from pond creation and clearance, clearing areas of scrub and sycamore, planting and maintenance of x3 box plantations, and planting of small-leaved lime trees . FoBW also undertook wildlife monitoring and generally wardening and caring for the site.

Unfortunately, with the passing of Steve and other issues it has no longer been possible to organise Task Days, and FoBW was finalldisbanded in February 2019.

It is hoped that monitoring of Boxley Warren will continue independent of FoBW. This to include activities such as grassland surveys, monitoring of orchids and insects such as bees and butterflies.  If you would like to help with this monitoring then please contact [email protected].
